Gem of a find... beautiful food! Plenty of choice service very good. Log burner nice and cosy. Indoor and outdoor space so if you've got dogs u can still go. Inside clean but basic.
Nice campsite and an excellent cafe. The place is ideal for walkers and cyclists. Oh, I nearly forgot - lovely food.
Great little cafe if you're in the area for some food if your by Cannock chase. However I've only given it to star because they would not allow dogs in the cafe which a lot of cafes of this nature do. The food was ok home-cooked I believe but my mother is on chemo and we had to sit outside and she was very cold. Thea cafe could make concessions and let dogs in it is absolutely ridiculous in this current time in our world..
Called at Springslade lodge today (Saturday) at around 12.30pmThe place was packed and the atmosphere was happy & welcoming with the much needed log fire glowing away at the end of the room.I expected things to be chaotic with so many people arriving at pretty much the same time.... including a walking group of 13.But I should have known better as the owner Kay and her staff very calmly dealt with the orders one by one. No rushing around or making mistakes... very impressed.So many customers paid compliments to the staff which they thoroughly deserved. Food was freshly prepared and delicious as always. On top of this, Kay always finds the time to say 'hello' and check that customers were happy with their meals.If you ever want to visit 'a special' place in beautiful Cannock Chase....look no further.
Wonderful little cafe hiding in Cannock Chase. Beautiful views,easily accessible by foot or vehicle. Reasonable prices and serving great coffee, always a must when out hiking, find the best coffee to take a break with.I found the staff friendly, efficient and willing to help. I highly recommend stopping off here, if only for a coffee and a quick hello from the staff, they put a smile on my sad little face that day, thanks.
